Making the Grade

This article seemed to me like more of an attack than an arguement on behalf of Kurt Wiesenfeld. Though his point is evident, students need to take more responsibility for their education, I am not sure who his intended audience is. If it is students, I see potential offense being taken, though it is a way of stirring emotion. If it is teachers, I can also see offense being taken. Wiesenfeld seems to presuppose that many teachers give away grades on a whim. Wiesenfeld presents himself as more than qualified to be writing this type of article, with over 10 years teaching experience in physics. He uses excellent word choice, but the entire article seems to lecture rather than argue.
